Green careers are among the fastest growing career opportunities for students today.
Beginning in 2010, the Bureau of Labor Statistics received funding to develop and implement new data on green jobs. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) defines sustainability as:
“Balancing a growing economy, protection for the environment, and social responsibility, so they together lead to an improved quality of life for ourselves and future generations.”
Businesses are beginning to understand the social and economic benefits of being environmentally friendly.
Kilian’s Associate of Applied Science in Sustainability will give you the opportunity to advance environmental practices and help revolutionize business.
Student Profile
Students interested in pursing this program should have a strong interest in the environment from both a resource conservation perspective as well as a policy-making perspective. If you have both, the career possibilities are vast and developing.
Two Program Options
Choose a two-year Associate of Applied Science Sustainability or, if you already have an undergraduate degree, get a Certificate in Sustainability.
AAS in Sustainability gives students the skills they need to quickly move into a career that is both economically and socially rewarding. Students can continue on at many institutions to pursue a Bachelors’ and Masters’ Degree.
Certificate in Sustainability is designed for those who already have an undergraduate degree and are interested in pursuing the education needed to set them apart in a job market that is going green.
This is an excellent program for employers and business owners wishing to implement or improve sustainability programs in the workplace.
