Kilian Community College was accepted into the Higher Learning Commission’s Academy for Assessment of Student Learning in October, 2011. A team was identified to head up this project: Mark Millage (President), Janet Garcia (Dean of Academic Services), Cheryl Hartman (Social Sciences Chair), Wendy Jansen (Business Chair), and Wendi VanBeek (Retention Specialist). The Team attended an initial Roundtable in Chicago in November, 2011 to develop the project.
The Team created the PACE Project: a comprehensive improvement of student learning plan. This plan will begin with institutional and program goals and objectives and end with data collected, maintained, and analyzed to provide seeds for improvements. Improved opportunities for student learning are the goal.
